New proposals to end the long running Greyhound dispute have been labelled “derisory” by a spokesperson for the workers.

Workers at Greyhound Recycling are to be balloted on Monday about new proposals to end the long-running dispute over pay cuts, with the new offer being a 33% pay cut instead of a 35% pay cut.

Employees have been picketing at the company depot in Dublin for the last 3 months over plans to cut wages by 35%.

Management and staff met yesterday to try and negotiate a new deal.

However Ray Reilly a spokesperson for the workers says the new offer of a 33% pay cut is derisory: “Each worker will have their chance to vote on this, Everyone will make their own mind up...I can’t speak for all the workers, but it’s such a derisory offer I’m very confident of it being turned down.”
