A new bill to regulate clamping on public and private property has been published today.

It is due to come into force by the end of the year.

Under the Bill, the National Transport Authority will have oversight of the clamping industry.

A maximum clamp release fee will also be set of €100, while the most you will be charged for your car being moved will be €50.

Signs will have to be in place where clamping is carried out.
