The 42 year old Latvian man, who lived in Roscommon, had been washed out to sea while fishing for mackerel on Sunday.
A massive search operation was launched involving the Coast Guard, the Navy and the Gardai and the man's body was recovered this morning at around half past eleven at Ballyreen near Fanore.
Two people were with him at the time and attempted unsuccessfully to rescue him.
He is originally from Latvia but had been living in Lanesboro, County Longford.
Searches involving the Doolin Unit of the Irish Coast Guard, the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter and Navy divers were involved in the search.
