Ireland's historical landmarks are opening their doors for National Heritage Week, which gets underway today.
More than 1,800 events are taking place across the island - with 'high Nelly' bicycle trips, linen making and steam engine rides just some of the activities in store.
Other events being organised between now and August 30th include exhibitions, talks & lectures, special walks, film screenings, guided tours, workshops and much more.
The majority of the events are free and full details are available on the Heritage Week website.
