A mini-heatwave is being predicted next week. From Sunday, temperatures will rise to the low 20s from the usual average of around 16 to 18 degrees.

Met Éireann says there will be dry, sunny, pleasant weather with higher than usual temperatures for the month of June.

Air temperatures in-land normally reach 18 to 20 degrees during summer days, and about 8 degrees during wintertime.

Today will be warm and mostly dry with some bright or sunny spells developing, with top temperatures will be 19 to 22 degrees.

Tonight will be mild and humid with lowest temperatures staying around just 10 to 13 degrees.

Tomorrow will start mostly dry with some bright or sunny spells over the south and southeast, but some showers will develop during the afternoon and could turn heavy towards evening in the west and northwest.

But showers will die out on Friday evening and it will be mainly dry Friday night.

Saturday will be mostly dry with hazy sunshine, with temperatures reaching up to 21 degrees.

While Sunday will see much of the same, with just the odd light shower. Top temperatures there could reach up to 22 degrees.

And Met Éireann says the early days of next week will also see settled conditions with a lot of dry weather, good sunny spells and temperatures reaching into the high teens to low 20s.
