Icy roads and snow have been present around Europe this year and to counter this Mercedes-Benz has released their new Vito 4.x4. Mercedes-Benz tells us that this version of the vehicle will add extra traction in such weather conditions, as well as on building sites and unpaved roads.

The Vito 4x4 is the concluding part of the introduction of the new Vito which is due for Ireland in and around April this year. It’s not confirmed yet as to whether or not the 4x4 model will be widely available in Ireland, but we’re guessing that it will be available to order. Mercedes-Benz has created the Vito with front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and now permanent all-wheel drive.

We’re told that this all-wheel drive with its four-cylinder 190hp engine achieves maximum torque of 440Nm. The 119 BlueTEC engine complies with future Euro 6 emissions standards and on paper it burns 169g/km of CO2. In terms of fuel consumption the figure we have been given is 6.4l/100km.

Irish prices for the Vito are yet to be announced.
