Wim Hof, a 55 year-old father of five, is one of the world's great physical marvels. Known as the 'Iceman,' he has a remarkable ability to regulate his core body temperature using only his mind - even in the most extreme environments.

The Daily Mail reports his claims that he can "turn his own thermostat up" to keep himself warm in sub-zero temperatures.

So far he holds 21 Guinness world records, including the longest time spent in an ice bath (1 hr 52m 42s) and for running a marathon in the Namibian desert without drinking any water.

Other achievements include running a full marathon above the Arctic Circle wearing only a pair of shorts and an attempt at reaching the summit of Mount Everest wearing the same. Unfortunately his ascent had to be abandoned after the recurrence of a foot injury.
