A Mayo man has died following a road traffic accident in Australia on Friday.

Kevin Moran - in his early 30s and a native of Cushlecka, Mulranny - had been living in Australia.

He was well known in Mayo as an underage star with Connacht rugby team and a player for Westport 'Bulls'.

He also played with Achill Rovers soccer team for many years. The team has sent its condolences to Mr Moran's friends and family.
