Gardaí in Co. Kildare have arrested a man following an operation on a growhouse in Athy, during which €900,000 worth of drugs were seized.

Local Gardai, and members of the Kildare Drug and Crime Unit, searched a premises in Ardschull at around 11 O'clock last night and seized cannabis plant and herb.

A man (43) was arrested in the early hours of this morning.

He will be questioned at Kildare Town garda station, where he is being held under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act, where he may be held for up to 24 hours.
