A manhunt has been launched after two prisoners escaped from officers in Co Clare.

The men were being transported to Ennis District Court when the incident occurred at about 3.15 this afternoon.

One has since been recaptured, and a search is underway for the second.

Gardaí and Prison Services have launched investigations into the incident.
