A man has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after a serious assault in County Wexford.

Gardaí said it happened at a house in CLonard at around 1:10am this morning.

The man in his 40s was taken to Wexford General Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Two women in their 30s were arrested at the scene and are being held at Wexford Garda Station.

The scene has been sealed off ahead of a technical examination and the garda investigation is continuing.
