A man has been seriously injured in a five-vehicle crash on the M7 in Co Tipperary.

It happened at around 7:40am this morning.

The road is closed northbound between the Birdhill and Nenagh junctions following the crash.

One man has been brought to University Hospital Limerick with what are described as serious injuries.

Garda Forensic Collision investigators are on their way to the scene, and diversions are in place.

Gardaí in Nenagh say their investigations into the crash are ongoing.
