Gardaí in Wexford are appealing for witnesses to a crash which has left one man fighting for his life in hospital. 

The man in his 20s was seriously injured when the car he was travelling in struck a wall on the R702 at Bellefield, Enniscorthy at around quarter past nine last night. 

The stretch of road is closed this morning as gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene. 

They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or who may have information, to contact Enniscorthy Garda Station.
