A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Drogheda, Co. Louth last night.
The local man in his 30s was shot in the leg on the Donore Road at around 9.30pm.
The suspect who has been detained is 26, and he is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Drogheda garda station.
The injured man is being treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, but he's not thought to be in a life-threatening condition.
The shooting happened near the Watery Hill steps, at the Donore road, a short distance from the town centre.
Gardaí say that after the shooting the man made his way to a nearby shop, where the alarm was raised.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses who were near the bus depot on the Donore road between 9.25 and 9.40pm to contact them.
