A Limerick man has pleaded guilty to murdering 4 people including his ex-partner and their 5-months-old baby daughter Amy.

John Geary of Meadow Court in Newcastle West was arraigned and entered the guilty pleas at the Central Criminal Court this afternoon.

Wearing jeans and a striped blue shirt he remained seated in the dock as the four murder charges were read out to him by the court registrar.

The victims are his ex-partner Sarah Hines (25), her 5-month-old baby daughter Amy and her 3-year-old son Reece and 20-year-old Alicia Brough.

All 4 were stabbed to death at a house in Hazelgrove, Newcastle West on November 15th of 2010.

33-year-old John Geary was arrested the following day and charged with their murders.

Mr. Justice Paul Carney has remanded him in custody for sentencing on Monday July 8th when victim impact statements will be presented to the court.
