A man in his 80s has been killed in a road crash in Co Cork.

The single vehicle collision happened at around half past two this afternoon at Ballinagoul in Knockraha.

The injured man was declared dead at the scene, and his post mortem was transferred to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.

The road remains closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and local diversions are in place.
