A man (18) is being questioned over an incident in Tipperary which has left another man critically ill in hospital.
The victim (66) suffered head injuries in a row with another man at his home at Kilcaroon in Ballyporeen just before 2:45pm yesterday afternoon.
He was rushed to South Tipperary Hospital in Clonmel and later transferred to Cork University Hospital.
The scene of the incident has been sealed off for a technical examination.
The man being questioned was arrested in Cahir and taken to the local garda station where he is being held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
