A man in his 40s has died after his car went out of control, crashed through a railing and landed on another car in The Glen on the North side of Cork city tonight.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and removed the man to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The area remains sealed off pending a full technical examination tomorrow morning.
