In the North, a man is in a critical condition following an altercation outside a fast food outlet in Belfast city.

The man in his 50s suffered serious head injuries in the incident at Donegal Place at around 12.30am on Sunday morning.

A man in his 20s was arrested and has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
