A man has been convicted of murdering Irish boxing champion Kevin Sheehy.

Logan Jackson - from Coventry in England - ran him over in his jeep after an exchange of words outside a house party in Limerick city in 2019.

After knocking him down, he then rolled over the boxer's body twice before leaving the scene.

The jury resumed its deliberations on Monday after spending a couple of hours considering the evidence on Friday.

All 12 of them found Logan Jackson guilty of murdering Kevin Sheey on Hyde Road in Limerick in the early hours of July 1st, 2019.

A small group of Kevin's family and friends were in the courtroom when the verdict was delivered - but a much larger group had to wait outside due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Their cheers and applause filled the courthouse when word filtered outside.

Jackson was also found guilty of putting the lives of other pedestrians at risk by driving his jeep straight at them.

His sentence hearing will take place next week.
