Bus Éireann has extended its 'deepest sympathies and condolences' to the family of a contractor who died following an accident at the company's Capwell Garage in Cork.

The accident happened on Monday when a cherry picker being operated by the man tipped over.

Bus Éireann is carrying out an investigation.

The company says it is co-operating with gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), who are also looking into the incident.

Their statement adds that the company's "thoughts and prayers" are with 'the family, extended family and friends' of the man.
