Police in the North have charged a 61-year-old man with two counts of attempted murder after an incident in which a teenager became trapped under a car in north Belfast.

A 16-year-old girl was knocked down and others injured during the incident in Ardoyne last night.

Police and locals managed to lift the vehicle off her. She is now being treated for a smashed pelvis.

The 61-year-old accused is due in court tomorrow.
