A man charged with the manslaughter of a father-of-one in west Dublin last weekend has been given consent to bail.
Trevor Corr of Kiltalown Way in Tallaght was arrested shortly after James Humphries was stabbed to death two days ago.
32-year-old James Humphries was stabbed as he slept in a bed at Kiltalown Way. Gardai say he had been drinking heavily that day.
He managed to stumble out off the house and raise the alarm but lost his fight for life a short time later.
37-year-old Trevor Corr, who lives at the address where Mr. Humphries was killed, was arrested and appeared before Tallaght District Court today where he was charged with manslaughter.
Detective Garda David Jennings objected to bail on a number of grounds including the seriousness of the charge and the weight of evidence against the accused.
But following a short break to consider the matter Judge Anthony Halpin decided to grant bail with 13 conditions attached.
They include that he stay with his brother until he can return to his home, that he surrender his passport, abide by a curfew and lodge €1,000 of his own money as well as €3,500 in two separate independent sureties.
Judge Halpin then remanded him in custody with consent to bail to appear before Cloverhill District Court next week.
