A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery in north Dublin yesterday afternoon during which two elderly men were assaulted.

It happened on the Malahide Road - the assailant walked into the driveway of a house and assaulted a man in his 70s and took his car keys - a second man, who is also in his 70s, came to the victims aid and was also assaulted.

The suspect left the scene in the stolen car.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at a house in Dolmen Court in Ballymun yesterday afternoon - the car was also found in Ballymun.

He is being held at Clontarf garda station.
