Police investigating the murder of Paul McCauley in Derry have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

Mr McCauley died nine years after he was severely beaten by a mob in a sectarian attack in the city in 2006.

The 29-year-old died last month in a care facility.

The suspect was arrested in the Fountain area of the city and taken to Strand Road police station for questioning.
