A 30-year-old man has been arrested following a drugs seizure in Cork.

€40,000 worth of heroin and cocaine combined was discovered after a car was stopped and searched on the M8 Toll Plaza at Watergrasshill.

In a follow-up search of a house in Navan, Co Meath this afternoon a small amount of ecstasy, cash and mobile phones were discovered.

The car was also siezed along with the drugs.

The man is currently being held at Mayfield Garda station and can be detained for up to seven days.
