A man arrested by Gardaí investigating alleged staged road traffic collisions has been released without charge.

The 43-year-old was arrested earlier on Thursday by Gardaí attached to the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB).

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

It was part of ongoing investigations into alleged staged road crashes.

Officers attached to the GNECB earlier conducted a search in north county Dublin.

A solicitor's office in the Dublin area was also searched under warrant as part of the overall operation.
