Gardai in Cork have arrested a man as part of intelligence-led operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs.

Officers from the Mallow District Drug Unit stopped a car at Rockchapel at around 7:30pm yesterday.

Cocaine with an estimated street value of up to €44,000 was found in the car.

The male driver (19) was then arrested.

He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act at Mallow garda station.
