A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the seizure of 100,000 worth of cannabis herb in Carlow.
The man was arrested following the search of a premises in Carlow town shortly after 2.30pm yesterday by Gardaí from the Kilkenny/Carlow Divisional Drugs Unit. Members of the Garda Dog Unit from Cork were on hand to assist.
The search was part of a wider operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the area.
The drugs have an estimated value of €100,000, pending analysis.
The man is currently detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
