Gardaí are appealing for information following a shooting in Longford town last week

The incident happened on Thursday June 6th at 10:30pm.

A number of shots were fired at an occupied house at Clonbalt Wood, Longford town.

According to gardaí, a window at the front of the house was damaged.

A man in his 40s, who was in the property at the time, narrowly avoided injury.

Those involved left the scene in a saloon car.

Shortly after, a vehicle was found burnt out nearby in the Ferefad area.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The want to speak to anyone who saw this saloon car, or anyone acting suspiciously in the area between 9:30pm and 11:30pm.

They are also appealing to those with dash-cam footage relevant to the ongoing investigation.
