On what was an historic day, Newstalk presenter Dil Wickremasinghe proposed to her partner Anne Marie O'Toole live on her Global Village programme.

It came after Ireland made global history, after backing same-sex marriage in a popular vote.

Just over 62% supported changing the Constitution, with more than 1.2 million people turning out in support of marriage equality.

Dil and Anne Marie became parents to a baby boy Phoenix last Sunday, who Dil said will now "grow up in a better and more inclusive Ireland".

Oh, and Anne Marie accepted the proposal!
