A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being viciously assaulted in Co Limerick.
The incident happened at around 2:15am this morning in the town square in Newcastle West.
The man sustained a number of kicks to his head.

He was rushed to Cork University Hospital, and later transferred to University Hospital Limerick.
Gardaí at Newcastle West are appealing for witnesses.
