At least five units of the Dublin fire brigade are currently tackling a serious blaze on Jones Road.

A fire broke out at a derelict church, just metres from Croke Park Stadium, at around ten past seven this evening.

The road is currently closed and a number of homes have been evacuated in the area as a precaution.

Irish Rail says train services on the Maynooth line are running - but will not stop at Drumcondra station, as the fire is close to the rail line.
