It has been confirmed by Land Rover that they will release the Range Rover Evoque convertible to the world and we’re told it should go on sale in 2016. To confirm the news the manufacturer released the underground testing film below.
The video shows testing of the vehicle in the 42km network of Crossrail tunnels which sit forty metres under the streets of London. This gave engineers a chance to test the convertible with the roof down in complete privacy. The start of the film shows the compact SUV being lowered into the tunnel by crane where it has to negotiate its way through a 6.2 metre diameter tunnel.
Murray Dietsch, Director of Land Rover Programmes, said: "The tunnels are still under construction, so we had a unique opportunity to explore the vehicle's all-terrain ability in unchartered territory."
Further details on the Range Rover Evoque convertible will be released later this year.
