A local election candidate in Dublin, who was verbally abused on the streets, says she was left shaken by the experience.

Martina Genockey is standing for Labour in Tallaght-South. She was canvassing in Jobstown yesterday when she was harassed by residents.

She was believed to be canvassing with her mother and brother at the time.

The video has since gone viral. Ms. Genockey told 98FM that she was criticised on social media as well.

Ken Purcell who took the footage apologised to Martina for making the derogatory comments - and said that they just wanted to ask her questions.
