Newstalk is currently recruiting for Senior Broadcast Journalists to join our award-winning News department.

As a Senior Broadcast Journalist, the right candidate will be expected to have an enthusiastic attitude to all aspects of broadcast and digital media and will be responsible for writing, editing, and publishing audio, video and written content.

To be considered for these exciting roles, you will have had at least two years experience working in a senior editorial role.

The successful candidates will help drive our on-air and digital output with special responsibility for:

  • News presentation during key day parts

You will be responsible for sourcing, editing, writing and presenting news bulletins during our PPI award winning Breakfast, Pat Kenny and Weekend programmes.

Your role will also encompass a number of other functions including working with the News Director and Digital team to create compelling, engaging content for Newstalk's digital platforms.

  • Editing the Network Newsdesk

Newstalk is the largest news supplier in Ireland, providing a national and international news and sports service to more than 30 commercial radio stations in Ireland.

You will have responsibility for preparing and presenting Network News bulletins, writing, editing and publishing copy, audio and digital stories, ensuring output is of the highest quality and dealing with client stations in a friendly and professional manner on a daily basis.

  • News Reporter - covering news events both at home and abroad

This is a high profile role therefore the successful applicant will be expected to deliver in-depth coverage across a broad range of topics both on air and across all Newstalk’s digital platforms.

 You will be an enthusiastic, self-starter with an ability to seek out unique stories, using creativity, originality and innovation, while also providing a fresh view on the top stories of the day.

You will have the ability to write creatively and accurately to audio and video, provide live coverage of breaking news events and prepare live and pre-recorded reports for broadcast on Newstalk, Today FM and the wider independent radio network in Ireland.

All roles involve working a five-day week across seven days, so you must be flexible in scheduling.
