They say a picture paints a thousand words, so a video sends an even stronger message.
The Taoiseach and the Tánaiste put on a strong display of 'peace and harmony' at Government Buildings this morning, despite growing tensions over the last few weeks surrounding the issue of water charges.
Looking at the footage earlier today, body language expert Laura McGrath of Interview Techniques said the Coalition partners were keen to show a united front.
"This is reflected in their body language," Ms McGrath notes. "They look comfortable and convey an air of a stable partnership as they walk side by side, engaging in conversation and exchanging regular glances."
However, as the two leaders approach the waiting paparazzi their body language "subtly changes".
"Enda assumes a more dominant position, looking straight ahead, forcing Joan to lean more closely into him," according to Ms McGrath.
But it doesn't look like the Tánaiste is content to play second fiddle to Enda Kenny as she "maintains a strong and confident stance throughout".
"She’s clearly enjoying her new position of power. Her smile is open and genuine, the warmth feeding into her eyes, showing an inner confidence," she adds.
"The overriding impression is that Joan is a force to be reckoned with. She wants a relationship of equal power with her coalition partner and will stand her ground."
