Conor Devlin suffered an acquired brain injury after a serious car crash in 2012.

He was 14 at the time and received numerous injuries to his brain leaving him facing months of physiotherapy, speech therapy, and issues surrounding emotions and confidence.

Conor has been campaigning for better services for teenagers with acquired brain injuries ever since.

He and his family spoke before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children in recent weeks.

They said the lack of dedicated services for teenagers with an acquired brain injury can turn the already “difficult experience” into a “terrifying journey”.

Newstalk Lunchtime’s Nadine Maloney went to Conor’s home, where she met his Conor, his mother Caitriona and his brother Paul to find out more on the impact an acquired brain injury can have on the family.
