Irish Aid has in marking 20 years of official relations in Ethiopia, although Irish money has been assisting in Ethiopia since the mid-seventies through a number of NGO’s such as - among others - Trocaire, GOAL and Concern.

Minister of State Sean Sherlock is accompanying the President in Africa. He says Ireland should continue its development programme, as part of the state's strengthened foreign policy:
