The ISPCA has launched an Emergency Appeal after seeing many of its fundraising activities cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The animal welfare charity said its vital services are “dangerously stretched” as it struggles to keep in services running through the crisis.
ISPCA inspectors are continuing to respond to emergency calls throughout the country and the charity is caring for hundreds of vulnerable animals in its rescue centres.
Our vital services are dangerously stretched with many fundraising activities now cancelled.
Our life-saving work cannot stop so we’re asking all animal lovers to donate if you can to our emergency appeal 🐾🐾https://t.co/cs94PJt0on#ISPCA #FrontlineWorkers #CoronavirusPandemic pic.twitter.com/qQTlje3Phd— ISPCA (@ISPCA1) April 3, 2020
“Many more vulnerable animals will need to be rescued and cared for at our centres and for a longer period of time before they can be lovingly rehomed,” it said in a statement.
“Generous donations from kind hearted animal lovers are critical at this time.”
The charity has outlined what it can do with the donations that come in.
- €15 Rescue Response – Help rescue animals suffering from neglect or cruelty
- €25 Feed a Dog or Cat for a Month – Help rescued animals recover and prepare for a health, happy life.
- €50 Veterinary Care – Contribute to life-saving emergency veterinary treatment
- Your own gift amount – Abused animals need an average 57 days of care to survive and recover.
