The Justice Minister Francis Fitzgerald says it is not surprising that ISIS listed Ireland as part of a 'coalition of devils'.
The terror group named Ireland as one of 60 countries in the video released online earlier this week.
The video, apparently released by Islamic State's Al-Hayat Media Centre, is believed to have been taken from an ISIS channel on Telegram.
It is entitled 'No Respite', and is primarily aimed at the United States, highlighting the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to date.
In it, the narrator talks of a "coalition of devils" made up of Iran, Turkey, the United States and Russia - but adds that there is a "global coalition" of enemies against IS.
The video then displays a number of flags, including an Irish Tricolour, which sits next to Germany's on the second row in a table.
Minister Fitzgerald says the assessment remains that while a terrorist attack here is possible, it is not likely.
