The trial of an Irish man accused of murdering a fellow Irishman, gets underway in Australia today.
33 year old Vincent Martin Crowe is accused of the murder of 21 year old Wexford man Kenny Meyler, at a house in Perth on February 10th last.
Mr Crowe was originally charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, but the charge was upgraded to murder following Kenny Meyler's death in hospital.
Mr Meyler was stabbed at a party in a Perth suburb.
Opening submissions begin today in Perth. The trial is scheduled to last two weeks, although it could run significantly longer.
The court heard that Crowe accepts the charge of manslaughter but the prosecution does not accept this.
