An Indian man working as a taxi driver in the United Arab Emirates enjoyed an unexpected day out on Sunday when Irishman Liam Murphy paid for him to accompany him to a major theme park.

Murphy, who was in Dubai as part of his job with IT company EMC, posted on Facebook about the duo's day out.

He said driver Shakiha told him during their long drive to the Ferrari World park that he had never been into the park himself, despite working nearby for 14 years.

The driver planned to wait for his fare in the car for four hours, as he said he had done on previous occasions for other customers.

Liam posted: "Got a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi today. Indian taxi driver living here 14 yrs yet was never in Ferrari World. He was going to wait in the car for 4 hrs. Today I made his dreams come true for the laugh...."I will pray God for you sir"....some craic with the hoore all day. His first ever roller coaster ride was on the fastest in the world. "I do not feel well sir". Shakiha will sleep well tonight — making other people happy."
