Irish Water is being asked to reveal how many people have paid their bills.
Members of the Anti-Austerity Alliance are delivering a 5,000 signature petition to the head office of Irish Water in Dublin today, calling for the release of payment figures.
A poster carrying the slogan 'They can't take us all to court' will also be launched.
The party say it is to highlight the fact that Irish Water cannot deduct payment from wages or welfare without taking everyone to court.
"This tactic was previously tried in the 1990s and brought the courts to a standstill due to the mass boycott and protests, ultimately the charges were defeated," the Anti-Austerity Alliance said in a statement.
Socialist Party TD and member of the Anti-Austerity Alliance, Paul Murphy, says people have a right to know.
