Heineken Ireland's turnover rose by €28m last year as it brought in €505.5m across the 32 counties. Heineken remains the most popular lager in Ireland.

Its Tiger and Desperados brands enjoyed double digit growth - and sales of Coors Light also grew - this bucked the broader tend in the market which saw volumes decrease by 0.3 percent.

Maggie Timoney, chief executive of Heineken’s Irish operations, said: "We will continue building on this momentum in 2015, developing our leading and balanced beer portfolio to meet all consumer needs.”

In Ireland the company sells Heineken, Murphy’s, Beamish, Amstel, Affligem, Foster’s, Birra Moretti, Zywiec, Desperados, Tiger, Coors Light, Paulaner and Sol.

Globally the group's revenue grew by 3.3 percent - and its net profit increased by 11 percent.

Most of this growth was driven by increased market-shares in emerging markets.

Jean-François van Boxmeer, Chairman of the Executive Board & CEO, commented on the global results:

"Our strong performance reflects the success of our strategy. We continued to invest in our portfolio of brands and we have significantly improved our commercial execution."
