An investigation is underway after a man was shot by a garda in County Cork last night.
It is believed the shot was fired as detectives were trying to stop a car at a checkpoint on the Mitchelstown Road in Mallow at around 8:30pm.
One man received non-life-threatening injuries.

Two men have been arrested and are being held at Mallow Garda Station under drug legislation.
The scene has been sealed off and the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) is conducting an investigation into the firing of the weapon.
Gardaí are continuing their own investigation into the incident.
