An investigation has been launched following the death of a prisoner at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin.
The man was rushed to hospital in the early hours of this morning and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Colm Carroll was serving 16 years for drug offences. He was found by prison staff in his single cell just before 1am this morning.

A postmortem to determine the cause of his death is due to be carried out.
