The inquest into the death of Mark Hennessy will hear evidence later from the Garda who shot him.
The 40-year-old abducted and killed 24-year-old Jastine Valdez in May 2018, before being found by Gardaí in a business park.
The inquest into his death reopened at Dublin City Coroners Court yesterday, where it heard from Gardaí who were on the scene when he died.
They told the jury they witnessed a Detective Garda produce a revolver and shoot through the window of his Nissan SUV, before he slumped over instantly.
They pulled Mark Hennessy onto the ground and assisted with first aid and searched the car and boot for Ms Valdez, but didn't find her.
The inquest also heard from three civil defence volunteers, including those who carried out CPR on the scene and witnessed Mr Hennessy dying.
The inquest continues this afternoon, where the Detective Garda who shot Mr Hennessy will give evidence.
