An injured fisherman has been airlifted to hospital in Cork.

The Air Corps assisted in the operation this afternoon, in response to a request from the Coast Guard.

The Air Corps crew kept a watch on the winching operation carried out by the Coast Guard helicopter and the injured crewman was taken to Cork airport, from where he was transferred to hospital.
