570,000 people took part in 2,300 events in 175 countries today, calling on world leaders to take decisive action on climate change.
It comes ahead of the UN's two-week Climate Change summit in Paris which begins tomorrow.
The UN says this is the first time in 20 years of negotiations that countries will "aim to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C".
The events were largely peaceful, however 208 protesters were detained after clashes with police in the French capital, where a national state of emergency remains in place following the terrorist attacks earlier this month.
